welcome 2008

It's Monday and we are having WRS FM on the background. Genevan streets are so quiet.

Bisperas pa lang ngayon pero parang nagbabadya na din what will be the New Year's eve. Hmm..

I can't think of anything to do today. Geodric is with me and my wife has to go to work so taong bahay na naman as usual. Ayoko ko na ring gumawa ng New Year's resolution kasi high school pa lang taon taon na naming ginagawa pero walang nangyayari. Lagi na lang sinasabi, "Ok, excuse muna this time." Ah, mahirap talaga.

I just miss holidays in the Philipiines. Ewan.

Sana swertehin tayong lahat this 2008.

Happy New Year....Boom!

Snow HUNTING

Ngayong Disyembre, lagi kong sinasabi ke Abou na "baka mag'snow nga ngayon dito 'bou kasi malamig". Pero 'di kagaya ng dati, snowless ang Pasko dito sa Geneva this year. Global warming ba 'to.

Kaya today, nag day off ang tiyuhin namin just to bring us kung saan me snow. Ang destination -- St. Cergue at Col de la Givrine about 20 km from Nyon area (http://www.myswitzerland.com/en/infra.cfm/rkey/806).

From, St. Cergue, drive uli ang tiyuhin namin papuntang Montreux in Vevey.

Just check these photos out:

Sa uulitin.

This is MY DAY..

December 27.

Walang champagne, walang cake at lalong walang inuman katulad noong nasa Pilipinas ako. Hehe...

And before the night ends, me regalo pa pala ako. Haha..kita nyo?

How I wish sana araw araw birthday ko. Salamat pala sa mga bumati through my friendster account. Ke Badet, Celma, ke Ryan, Malen, Chyreen, Delyn (panay babae) Atty. Alagos at sa pamangking Ryan din.

Happy Birthday to me.

starBUCKS

I received a forwarded email from Kuya Rich based in Chicago a week ago about this "pasosyal" na kapehan which happens to be one of our favorite spot here in Geneva. And it says:

Guess I won't be drinking Starbucks anymore! ! !

Recently Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted tolet them
know how much they liked their coffees and to request that theysend some of it
to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thank you for their
support of their business, but that Starbucks does notsupport the war, nor
anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.

So as not to offend Starbucks, maybe we should not support them bybuying
any of their products! I feel we should get th is out in the open. Iknow this
war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn'tmean we don't
support the men and women on the ground fighting street -to-street
and house-to-house.

If you feel the same as I do then pass this along, or you candiscard it and
no one will never know.

Thanks very much for your support. I know you'll all be there again when
Ideploy once more.

Semper Fidelis.

Sgt. Howard C. Wright
1st Force Recon Co
1st Plt PLT

PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS . ALLOW IT TO BEPASSED TO ALL IN MEMORY OF ALL THE
TROOPS WHO HAVE DIED SO THAT WE MAY HAVETHE RIGHT TO CHOOSE TO SUPPORT THEM OR
NOT! ! !

Also, don't forget that when the Twin Trade Towers were hit the fire
fighters and rescue workers went to Starbucks because it was close by for water
forthe survivors and workers and Starbucks charged them! ! !

JUST A NOTE TO THIS; STARBUCKS HAD STORES ON SEVERAL MILITARY BASES
IN THE UNITED STATES. THEY ARE NOW BEING REMOVED BECAUSE OF THIS. GO GET
'EM AMERICA . STAND-UP FOR OURSELVES!

Very recently, me and my wife had a chance of hangin' out after a work at Starbucks at Gare Cornavin. I chose frapuccino latte something and a hazelnut hot chocolate for her. Hehe..pero may gameplan. How to take away one of the Starbucks mug. We sat at the seat upstairs where no one could possibly noticed to what we will do but unluckly after about 10 minutes ng pagkakaupo, may dumating na dalawang haponesa bitbitang kani kanilang tasa ng kape at doon talaga naupo sa harap namin.

Di ko na lag tatapusin ang kwento kasi nagiguilty kami pero we made it, we took home one of starbucks mug at home.

Tapang lang yan at tibay ng loob.

Pasaway!

Christmas is in the air. Six more days to go, putukan na. Pero, it couldn't be felt here. These will be my third Christmas here and its always the same. Para bang, its nothing but an ordinary holiday. Sa Pilipinas, masaya kahit walang pera.

Ewan ko kung may simbang gabi din dito, meron din siguro pero ewan...and speaking of simbang gabi, Abou is determined to complete the nine mornings.

At isa pang pagkagastusan, whew.., 8 days na lang and I will be again a year older. Magpapakain na naman ako. At siguradong kakainin ako nyan (?). Hindi, simpleng Text lang ng birthday wish enough na 'yon for me to know that you care for me. Errkkk...Bahala na si Batman.

Ayus!

December 19 na pala ngayon. I had been away from blogging for almost two months, minus 'yong pagpost ng jaxtr.

After Inu's death and with the thought of leaving the two dogs for another work...ah..uhmm..nagseservice na pala ang tramway from gare cornavin to avanchet station. At least mas mabilis na at mas malapit sa trabaho ko. Hehe...sa Geneva po 'yan.

Last November, there was a barangay election sa Pilipinas and my 22 year-old brother won as Capitan del Barrio. I haven't chatted with him for so long now pero 'di bale your red wine is coming.

Aha, eto, si Abou me blog na and please chect this out mga kaberks, its on my link list. Worth din basahin and, of course, my long lost "student" sa ballroom who is now a writer sa ABS CBN, remember ba ninyo si Maria Flordeluna, he was part of it and actually one of the composers ng theme song mismo, and right now, doing something for "Annaliza", another project. Mahilig din mandekwat ng DVD sa Quiapo. Mga kaberks, check Arden's blog, its also on my link list.

It is really freezing here in Geneva. With a tempreture that is below zero especially in the morning, hmm..mapapakuba ka sa bigat ng damit na dapat suot mo. I was thinking that it is rather beneficial sa mga suisse kasi it will keep their chocolates in shape, and so with their cheeses, and so with their wines and so with themselves. =)

My little Geodric is so makulit now. He is now 17 months and so full of energy. He is actually spending his wholeday during weekdays in creche. Parang sort of day care sa Pilipinas. Talagang nakakatanggal ng pagod.

My wife, her employer moved outside the city so hirap na din sa kanya ang magcommute kasi laging nasa oras ang train plus malayo din ang bus yet, namamanage naman kapalit ng Swiss Francs.

Ako, eto, patuloy na pumapayat. Since I lost that 10 kilos a year after I arrived here, 'di ko na maibalik. Tarabaho kasi.

welcome to EARTH

i'm BACK.

Para akong nagbabalik na kapamilya. Kelangan ko yata this time ang grand welcome. Matagal tagal ding panahon, as in panahon, ang nawala, i mean, na ako ay nawala. Marami na dapat akong maikukwento pero it will be boring kapag ginawa kong mahaba ang posting ko na to. Dapat siguro ganito lang.

Salamat mga kaberks sa muli nating pagkikita. Namiss ko din kayo....

goodbye INU

As usual, I have a busy afternoon yesterday. I was in the midst of refreshing Geodric and while I was trying to put his diaper on, I recieved a call from Outi, Steve's girlfriend. I picked up my phone but I did not hear her. Geodric was still naked when she rang again and this time I could hear her.

Her voice sounds normal, relax while doing her greetings, but maybe she is just trying to be calm but while our conversation is goin on,she gave up, I could hear her crying while saying this:

George, I would like you to know that....Inu died
today and it was a peaceful death for her and I know that she's very happy...

She's crying like she lost a child.

Inu died. She was 15 yera-old Akita Inu and she was suffering from severe arthritis that because of medical complications, her kidney was damages that made her noto control her urination. She had suffered a lot,

After that call from Outi my emotion was like, oh, so Inu died, because I was with my son but when I wake up this morning, the reality set me in. I am saddened by Inu's death. I will terribly miss that dog that gave me a hard time in the elevator, that made me feel like an idiot sometimes, hmmm...., she is just a dog but she's my buddy. True, I was expecting her to be gone within this week but not as early as today. I was hoping to see her this morning but no.

Inu, I will be misssig you a lot but I know you are very happy now wherever you maybe.

rather INSULTING & what?

Last week also, as I was surfing the net, my eyes caught this line on my igoogle homepage, before I open my email, the news about this episode in Desperate Housewives vis-a-vis medical schools in the Philippines. It was Teri Hatcher's (Susan Mayer) line that drew a lot of reactions especially from the medical society of both Filipino and American-Filipinos from the US and from the Philippines also. The line went something like this:

"Okay, before we go any further, can I check those diplomas? Coz I would
just like to make sure they are not from some med school in the Philippines.."

Me and my wife was also a Desperate Housewives fanatic, actually we have the entire season 1 and season 2 but unfinished and we also kinda like it. But, I was surprise when it popped to the news last week about this episode in the fourth season (?) and it was rather insulting. I am in one of those who wanted the producer of the show and everyone involved including Teri Hatcher to make a public apology but Ihave also some worries. And what's next? Do their public apology would change how do they looked at us Filipinos? As part of my experience as an OFW, mahirap talaga na baguhin kung ano ang naging impression ng ibang bansa sa atin. OO, magaling tayong magtrabaho, matapat tayo sa mga amo, madali tayong matuto yet, at the end of the day Pilipino pa rin tingin nila sa atin. And I guess you know what I mean.
I hope that we may find time to contemplate and think and learn something from this experience and hoping that something in our Filipinohood be change. This give us the chance to focus what is really happening in our system.

funny CONFESSION

Bonjour tout monde!

It was a heavy week for Ningning & me this past week. We had been working under time pressure and that was stressful. We came to Manoy Junior's 50th birthday celebration this afternoon and the food was loaded. Grabe talaga apetite ng Pinoy and that made no surprise sa Chinese owner ng restaurant where it was held. Plus, hmmm...ang ingay. Well, sanayan lang yan.

I have experience something different last week. This happened last Friday. I was doing my ussual routinary work with Mr. Katz. While I was moving those bags of dirt to be used for the garden next spring, I feel this feeling, the one you also regulary feel in the morning -- najejebs ako. 'Di ko na kayang pigilin pa at wala ng panahon pa para pumunta ng kubeta. Hehe..after a long long time, ngayon ko lang ito nagawa -- ang jumebs sa tabi ng puno gamit ang mga dahon na pamunas sa puwet. At ang linis ng pagkapunas ko. Walang naiwan sa brief ko. Grade two pa yata ko ng last ko pa ito nagawa. Haha..only in Geneva.

Kayo? Nagawa n'yo ba ang nagawa ko? At your age? Guts lang 'yan.

He did not logged on through his YM account and I can't make to send him an SMS because I know he won't reply (di kasi nagloload). It was his birthday that I last talked to him. He is neither updating his friendster profile for a month now.

my adventure with JACK BAUER

I had been spending my weeknights for the past two weeks consecutively watching the season 4 and 5 of 24. Ningning was a bit jealous of 24. I'm sorry but find myself teaming up with Jack Bauer fighting against terrorists.

I have watched 24 season 5 actually ahead of 4 and I can't help but admire that there is a certain Jack Bauer who have enough courage than anyone else to ran after these bad guys. I would like to thank our neighboor Aida for these DVDs.
In both seasons, I admire a lot the role of Chloe O'Brien -- the best computer analyst in the CTU. With her facial expressions, I consider her a heroine along with Jack. A very nice team up, the one who could go against the order of her superiors when national security is at stake.

One thing that I have just noticed, most of the casts never took a break for coffee, meal ao any personal necessities within 24 hours and I pity Jack the most becuase he has just end up the crisis in the season 5 taking nothing and he was again beaten and taken to China by these Chinese guys who ran after him. Let's waith for the season 6.
To sum it all, it was a good wok, in my own opinion. Try to watch it for yourself. Enjoy!

optical ILLUSIONS

Mga kaberks, I wanted to share with you some of these images sent to me by my friend Richard from Chicago. This is the Optical Illusions:

Is this Possible?

Are the purple lines straight or bent?

Do you see gray areas in between the squares? Now where did they come from?

You should see a man's face and also a word... Hint: Try tilting your head to the right, the world begins with 'L'

I really find this interesting. Try n'yo lang.

ang leon ni JOEY

This is one of my writing moods and I have my time. My wife and Geodric are both in bed now. I have something to say about what happened to youtube.com this week. Actually, si Ningningsng unang nakaalam nito kasi masyado nyang nakahiligan manood ng Boy and Kris uploaded in this site. And we are a bit disappointed kasi tinanggal na ng ABS-CBN ang lahat ng mga uploaded videos nila claiming for their copyright, which is very appropriate lang naman. My worry, is on my part. Hehe...Then, we realized what happened prior to that. Does it has something to do with the pronouncement made by Joey de Leon against Wowowie with regards to that "fraud"? Let me say it. Walang hiya ka Joey de Leon. On the other side of this story, I can't understand why Joey de Leon is so bitter when it comes sa Dos. I remember when Toni Gonzaga shifted to Kapamilya, he was very vocal and it really shows his bitter attitude. Ang lakas manlait e, that time, Kempee de Leon was also on ABS CBN.

I would like ask an apology for unupdated posts on my blogs. I was a little busy working these past few days, if not looking for one, that I could not even afford to make a call to my wife sometimes, how I am doing and replying to some important SMS. Perhaps, I need to prioritize things.

Minsan kasi, I am waiting for the right time and my writing mood para at least I could be at least spontaneous but when there is the mood, there is no time .

Anyways, I would like to thank Olive Colesio for this, a "friendster" for sharing this site and I would like to invite Aniqueños out there to visit this site. Please log on to www.kinaray-a.com.
If you wanted to refresh your kinaray-a in terms of everything, dyan kamo magpa-ayaw ayaw.
Plus, there's a live stream of Radyo Natin.

Thanks sa admin.

idiotic WEEK

Kamusta na mga kaberks? Ano bang bago? September na naman at ibig sabihin n'yan e Christmas is approaching. Mabilis talaga lumipas ng panahon.

Before anything elase, I would like to inform you (para akong nag-aanounce, ibahin ko na lang ang tagline) I would like to greet some of special person (ewan kung bakit sila special) a Happy Birthday. First, is my cousin Anie Unlayao, who is in St. Tropez, France right now, on the 4th. Ryan Relator, (i dunno when exactly pero this September yon as per Abou's reminder); CJ Lanuza, my nephew; Boning and Flori Ann, my brother and sister. 'Yon.

By the way, speaking of radio, I would like to share with you this website para sa kung sino man ang mahilig makinig ng live streaming ng FM stations from Philippines. Syempre, kasama dito ang Star FM 102.7 Manila. Loyal pa din talaga pero sa totoo, I used to listen to them here in Switzerland.

www.eradioportal.com
www.bomboradyo.com

These past few days also, I have the chance of visiting some of the blog entries of Jiggy Manicad, Jobart Bartolome at katatapos ko lang ng kay Howie Severino. They are all worth reading for. Para na ring ke Arden Rod. Just check their blogs on http://www.gmanews.tv/blognetwork.

Also, this week, Ningning and I got the chance of seeing some of the latest buzz in the showbiz from Pinas. Kakatuwa na nakakatawa pero these thing really reflect what we Filipinos are. Anyway, thanks to youtube.com.

This last days also, we brought Geodric in the Zoo Parc in Plainpalais. This happens annually kung kelan KNIE brought some of the animals -- elephants, horses, lamas, zebras, unggoys, ponys, baboy, kambing, parrots and camels. So far 'yon lang naalala ko. Maswerte na din kahit paano si Geodric kasi siguro noong one year old ako sa Pinas hindi ako pinakitaan ng tunay na elepante, zebra at camel. And he was indeed very happy.

And my wife noticed that I am gaining weight. Para na naman akong nija turtle nito. Blame it to the picnics and kainan gathering. Sana di ako natitempt kumain. E. eto ngat at kakauwi lang din namin from the Tarins' where we spent the lazy Sunday afternoon plus nakidinner na din don with matching karaoke. (I love singing)

I am also wondering what will happen this week kasi medyo wavy kasi nangyari sa amin mag-asawa this last week. Ilang beses na din kami nagkatampuhan because of pagtitipid issue. I guess, that's it. In one way or another meron talaga difference ang pananaw ng babae at lalake sa concept ng pagtitipid. Oi, we are not living that very comfortable life here. Everything is sacrifice. But we are always looking at the good side of life para maging balance ang sitwasyon plus prayer.

It's 11:28pm na and I have also to rise early tommorow kasi maaga din ang pasok ko.

Goodnight mga kaberks and I'll be posting photos next time.

idiotic FEET

I was really fascinated with life. I was now living my life, raising my family in a place far far away from home. My feet were now wandeing in a different soil, breathing the chilly air, sipping wine occasionally and sometimes taking my caramel macchiato at Starbucks here in the city of Geneva. 'Di ko din maimagine na dati I was walking along with my classmates going home from school and just talking about..a..uhmm..having a double wedding and sometimes, revealing our "hula" that I will get married at the age of 32 pero 25 years pa lang ako natali na, and now, a father and happy.

But because of this life, I began to dream that someday, my feet will land of a smooth alley, 'yong hindi sya masyadong masasaktan at may mas desenteng suot na. And it was happening now.

My wife would always tease me that I have an ugly feet. Ugly na kung ugly pero this is one of a kind sa mundo. And I am very proud of having it. Minana kaya 'to ng anak ko.

Mga kaberks, sometimes, there are moments when we are not sure if we are taking the right way as we are journeying life. Just let your heart decide with mind and your feet will lead you to the right way. Just think GOD.

TWO BUDDIES

August 16, 2007

(copied from http://paean.blogs.friendster.com/the_lost_knight/)

'Musta na mga kaberks? Isang maulang araw meron kami dito sa Geneva today. But unlike one of the rainy days before, I wasn't feel so bad.
Aside from earning swiss francs by being a glorified gardener, I have these two masters -- two human bestriends. My three times a week buddies. And I am sharing them with you today.

This is Inu Armstrong. She is a 14 year-old Akita Inu, a great Japanese dog. Medyo active pa sya when I started taking care of her 2 years ago but right medyo mabagal na sya kumilos because of her sickness. She has this arthritis in his and she has her regular medication right now. Kumbaga sa tao, medyo nasa katandaan na si Inu kasi ang life expectancy ng breed nila ranges from 10 to 12 years. This was Steve's first poach kung di ako nagkakamali.

Eto naman si Aaro Armstrong. He came from the same breed with Inu. He is three years old and he was actually taken by Outi, Steve's girlfriend, in order daw to rejuvinate Inu. I was really schocked when Aaro was introduced to me kasi 5 month-old puppy pa lang sya yet ganito na sya kalaki kung ano sya ngayon. Aaro is really an active dog pero madaling maupset especially pag hindi nabibigyan ng treat after his walk. Sa totoo lang, everyone in the village talagang hanga kay Aaro kasi maganda itsura niya at tindig and tha also makes me proud everytime I walk him outside.

One of these days, I'm gonna miss them both. I was thinking of taking another work and give them up for me to manage my time.

How do they look Ryan?

TWO MOONS

I have recieved a forwarded email from a friend Richard from Chicago about what will going to happen on the 27 of August this year. I really wanted to confirm this with him because I'm a little excited.

This is the message:

CIRCLE YOUR CALENDAR
Two moons on 27 August

**27th Aug the Whole World is waiting for...*

Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will cultivate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again.

Until I read it again and seeing the opening message:

I am not sure how true it is but...

So idiot.

Cheers Kuya Rich.
